Fully online MOOC course, in Italian language, available now. Delivered through the Canvas platform, it can be followed by the student at their own pace of learning, according to their own time availability.
All teaching material will be available for three months from the day of enrolment. During this time the student will have free access to: video lectures, transcripts of the videos, summary presentations and tests designed to assess growth in learning.
Course Information
Content: The course introduces the fundamental anthropological and biblical concepts on which John Paul II’s Theology of the Body is developed, in order to be able to value corporeity within a vision of the person as a ‘unicum’ of body and spirit. In this course one will get to know the particular form of friendship love, such as spousal love, in order to understand the Theology of the body in its being a pedagogy of the body rooted in the theology of the family
Learning objectives: the course is aimed mainly at educators, family pastoral workers, religious who are involved in marriage and family spirituality and is composed of four units.
In the first unit, you will come into contact with the ‘star’ text of the course, namely John Paul II's Catecheses on Human Love, and then move on to study the anthropological and biblical concepts present in the Theology of the Body.
In the second unit, the student will have the opportunity to get to know corporeity specifically, first of all from the point of view of the history of thought on the body, with a particular focus on the dualistic view. They will also get to know the role of the body in the ‘biblical vocabulary’ and its value according to the Magisterium.
At the end of the unit, the student will know how to analyse the redemption of the heart and conjugal love; in particular, the theme of adultery of the heart will be addressed in order to deepen the theme of spousal love.
In this unit, the student will gain an understanding of the theology of the body as a ‘pedagogy of the body’ rooted in the theology of the family, understanding the teaching of the Magisterium concerning the transmission of life and the value of chastity

How long is the course?
The duration depends on your learning pace. On average, the course requires approximately 25-30 hours of total study time to complete all the units with the educational materials and pass the final quiz.
What do I gain by completing the course?
Upon completing the course, you will receive an official certificate of completion, valid for 1 ECTS credit (European Credit Transfer System), after passing the final quiz.
How do the assessment quizzes work?
Each lesson includes a formative assessment quiz that helps you check your understanding of the content. These quizzes do not count towards the final grade of the course. At the end of the course, there is a quiz that determines the grade for the issuance of the certificate.

The course is in italiano, with materials and content organized for easy and engaging understanding.

Will I receive a certificate at the end of the course?
Certainly, at the end of the third unit, you will need to take a final quiz covering all three units. Once you pass it, you will be able to download your certificate of participation in the course, along with recognition of 1 ECTS at the institutions and faculties of our University.
What is the format of the course?
The course is completely online and can be taken independently. There are no live lessons. It is structured in modules that include video lessons, formative assessment quizzes, and supplementary materials.
Can I meet the instructor?
There are no scheduled meetings with the instructor; however, through the Canvas platform, you can send emails with questions and comments, to which a response will be provided as soon as possible.

Prof. Giorgia Brambilla
Prof. Giorgia Brambilla is an extraordinary lecturer in the Faculty of Theology at the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical University. She holds a Doctorate in Bioethics and a Licentiate in Theology with a specialisation in Family and Sexual Morality from the same Athenaeum dealing with Theology of the Body for almost fifteen years

Academic value:the course has an academic value of 1 ECTS corresponding to a commitment of 24 hours distributed over the 3 teaching units of which the course is composed. The student has 3 months from enrolment to complete the course.
Certification:at the end of the course the student must take a summative assessment test in order to obtain a certificate of recognition issued by the Faculty of Theology.
