Course Information
Content: This course offers a first look at the study of Spiritual Accompaniment, an ecclesial ministry in which one baptised person, experienced in the Christian life, helps another to grow in faith. Through dialogue and sharing, the person being accompanied is guided to live more fully the divine life received in Baptism.
We will also deepen the fundamental qualities of the companion, a figure who acts as mediator between the two protagonists of the journey: the Holy Spirit and the person accompanied
Learning objectives: The course is divided into three units, each with well-defined learning objectives for a path within the reach of all
In this first unit, we will explore the meaning of this ecclesial ministry of help, starting with two complementary definitions. We will delve into its main purpose and immediate objective, its usefulness and necessity for those who wish to live the Christian faith to the full. An essential path to understanding the importance of Spiritual Accompaniment in the life of the baptised person.
This unit delves into the Trinitarian root of Spiritual Accompaniment, which stems from Baptism and is part of the mystery of communion with God. We will also study the figure of the spiritual accompanier, a man or woman called to conform themselves more and more to Christ, carrying out their task with humility and dedication
This unit explores the Spiritual Accompaniment meeting as a structured dialogue, with specific contents and pedagogical conditions. The objective is to train the spiritual accompanier to help the person accompanied to grow in Christian maturity, holiness, docility to the Holy Spirit, knowledge of Jesus and communion with God.
